Urinry incontinence may happen in a wide diversity, ranging from loosing a few drops to a devastating hygienic and social problem. It can happen in different mechanisms in males and females. Stress incontinence is when the patient looses urine during coughing, sneezing or carrying a heavy item. Urge incontinence is the difficulty to reach the bathroom dry when there is urgency to void. The most common form in the elderly males is that due to prostatic diseases or those after prostate surgeries, especially after radical prostatectomy. The treatment depends on the severity of the situation and the anatomy of the patient, being; oral medication, sling procedures, botox or bulking agent injections, or implantation of an artificial urinary sphincter device (AUSD). The gold standard of treatment for severe postoperative stress incontinence in males is the implantation of an AUSD.
